Those who are very fastidious about the purity of raga-ragini are hardly too compared with me. Certainly, all these forms of Urdu poetry like Marsiya, Noha, Suez and Salam are written with the subject though recited with a distinct rhyming quatrain, and a couplet on a different rhyme. This is usually written in Arabic, Persian or Urdu and is sung and recited all over the world by Muslims. This poem by Anne Sexton speaks of both - the deaths and funerals of her parents, and the lovers' world of touch. Keeping in mind the gigantic nature of our endeavor it seems as though somewhere down the line we are trying to re-create this world. Your photos are beautiful!
